I want to buy a hammock to hang in our garden between two trees which are 10 feet apart. I don't want to bring it in every time we have bad weather. I want to use it for reading and sleeping, and for my two young kids to enjoy swinging and playing in it. Any advice from personal experience? Thanks in advance.
10 feet is maybe a bit short for a 'real' hammock? I got two, two years ago from Ebay, fantastic hand made South American, but the distance between the tree and wall is about 15 feet. I dont leave them out in all weathers, I fitted heavy snap hooks to the hammock and eyebolts to the tree/wall, so I can detatch them easily. 3 Seater Heavy Duty Swing Hammock with Adjustable Canopy. 652/2874 from argos
You could try to contact the manufacturer either through their details on the original packaging, or contact them through Argos customer service and buy a new one direct from them. Or failing that, you'll need to buy some new material – here is some on ebay http://search.ebay.co.uk/search/search.dll?from=R40&_trksid=m37&satitle=waterproof+fabric) and use the old cover as a pattern to make a new one. Good luck
I mentioned to the sample of this item on the Argos website.
(Sicily 3 Seater Swing Hammock- White)
Anyone could you tell me please, if any possible to use this item to the indoor setting? because we don't have the garden.
Yes. We have a space but we're living in the 4th flour. so
Is this safe for the children?
Thanks 4 the answer.
Any outdoor or patio swing or hammock can be used indoors. Here are a couple of examples below. The deciding factor being how much room you actually have, Remember, the hammock/swing will need a lot of room, especially with kids, because it will be swinging to and fro.
The safety of the install is dependent on how it the Hammock or swing is anchored and the material that the anchor rope/chain and eyelets are constructed with. If you plan on putting it indoors, make sure it is anchored to very sturdy ceiling beams and made with quality materials.
Lowes or Home Depot? Try Froogle too.

bad!
Woodplay has a customizable swingset that you can add an adult hammock swing to — link below. Hope this is what you're looking for!
Is there anyway of halting this deterioration using some sort of fixant/ primer and then using something such as Hammerite to repaint. It is very large and fiddly so stripping it is really out of the question.
just rub it down and hammerite it
is there a web site to get them?
I bought something years ago and it didn't have all the pieces so I called the store that I bought it from and they opened another box and gave me the parts from it ( after showing my receipt proving I bought it from them) if they won't do that they may be able to tell you where you could write or e-mail to get replacement parts. Also if you still have the box or instructions you could possibly find the company's address or e-mail from that.
